He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Mabel Graves Rains Ferguson; his daughter Rhonda Matthews (Rob, family: Sarah Matthews, Sammie, Silas, Jarid, Marley, Lily, Eliza Matthews, Andrew, Isaiah Matthews, Michael, Leah Evert) of Harrison; his wife Joyce Lewis Horn; and his children, Steve Horn and Brenda Austin.
He is survived by: his former wife Yvonne Pemberton Rains; his children, Rex Rains (Laura, family: Kyle, Boaz, Jonas, Elias Rains, Janna Eleanor, Holden Gray, Chelsea Eloise, Walter Griffin, Nate Petersburg) of Dubuque, Ruth Crouch (Michael, family: Aaron, Kefa, Milo Crouch, Landen Jasen, Madelyn, Westyn, Owen Crouch) of Harrison, Mickey Horn (Ann) and Lisa Horn Dixon; and his grandsons, Kyle Rains, Nate Petersburg, Aaron Crouch, Landen Crouch, Jarid Matthews, Drew Matthews, Michael Evert, Justin Dillon, James Horn and Michael Horn. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
