He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Short and Sally Ellis Short; the mother of his children Frankie Hutchens Short; his siblings, Calvin, James, Marie Butler, Rachel Guin, Eugene and Cecil Short; his son-in-law Ray Keeling; and his siblings-in-law, Jay White and Rita Short.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Wanda Huffman; his children, Sharon Keeling, Ricky, Melody Short, Chris and Judi Bush; his siblings, Ed (Linda Short), Johnny (Shirley Short), Pat (Tom Atkinson), Jerry Short, Mary Loyd, Connie White and Danny (Dawn Short); his sisters-in-law, Clara Sue Chambers-Glover and Nancy Short; his grandchildren, Kayla, Justin Lancaster, Scotty, Kelsea Short and Tesia Bush; and his great grandchildren, R. D., Rose, Chandler and Amara. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
