It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johnnie Wesley Sr. (Helena, Arkansas), born in Poplar Grove, Arkansas, who passed away on June 19, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Wesley and Helen Phillips; his wife Everline Louise Starr Wesley; and his children, Annie Irene Wesley Lowery, Versie Parker and Curtis Starr.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Johnnie Wesley Jr. (Reba), Mary Starr (Louise), Early Hill, Lula Starr, Novella Starr, Effie Wallace, Annie Hicks and Brenda Star; his granddaughters, Dorothy Bennett and Mary Elizabeth Starr; and his close friends, Kim Smith and Charles Hoskins. He is also survived by great grands, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church (1160 Holly St, Helena, AR 72342). A burial will be held on Saturday, July 5th 2025 at the same location.
