He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Andrew Smith and Mary Whittington Smith; his sons, Larry L. Smith (Patrice) and Brett S. Smith; and his grandson Shane Smith.
He is survived by: his son Kevin A. Smith (Virginia) of Helena; his grandchildren, Jason A. Smith (Tracy) of Humnoke, Andrew W. Smith (Laura) of Helena, Nathan D. Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sarah Waller of Mims, Virginia C. Smith of Jonesboro and Caroline Lawrence (Drake) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and his wife Joann. He is also survived by five great grandchildren, cousins.
