He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Avant and Jeanette Williams Avant; and his sister Pamela Torres. He is survived by: his family Lord; his wife Nyla Roberts Avant; his children, Matthew Jay Avant, Mackenzie Diane Avant, Caitlin Petterson (David) and Jessica Gray; and his siblings, Jay Avant (Kaye) of Delaware, AR, Mark Avant (Jamie) of Virginia and Annette Brooks (Dwain) of Little Rock, AR. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
