He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Frank Bates and Geraldine Beck Bates; and his brother Gene Bates. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Bates; his daughter Mischelle Brown (Danny) of Alexander, Arkansas; and his brother Harvey Bates (Kathie) of Prim, Arkansas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
