She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Basinger and Albert Shepard; her grandmother Bertha Channon; her daughters, Betty Sue Carter and Barbara Jean Harvel; her granddaughter Machille Foster; her great grandchild Evan Kyle Isley; and her siblings, Mary Cron and Basinger.

She is survived by: her children, Debbie Parmer, Jimmy Shepard (DeDe) and Thomas Carter; her sisters, Shirley Dowdy, Sante Fe and Susie Dilback; and her grandchildren, Christina Muphy, Amanda Pettit, Taylor Litchford, Melissa Carter, Jimmy Isley, Justin Isley, Ashley Shepard, Devin Shepard, Dylan Shepard, Destiny Harvel, Casey Rhodes, Grace Carter, Thomas Carter, Brandy Lewter, Lisa Saunders and Brian Saunders. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
