He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Jones and Chauncey Jones; his wife Rose Scott; his grandparents, Mary Jane and Edgar Scott; his siblings, Richard Jones, Philson Jones, Oliver Jones and Ann Smith; and his nieces, Janene Smith and Jayda Singleton.
He is survived by: his half-sisters, Sandra Daniels and Patricia Burnett (Ronald) of Pennsylvania; and his cousin Dr. Gloria McCoy of Maryland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
