He was predeceased by: his son-in-law David Weidt (Jerri); his parents, Lorene Smith and Oscar Smith; and his siblings, Vesta and Jackie.

He is survived by: his wife Beverly; his daughters, Jerri Smith of St. Paul, MN and Jill Kramer (Steve) of Chester, MD; and his grandsons, Mike (Ariel) of Washington, DC and David of Vancouver, WA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the HSV Animal Shelter or Wounded Warriors.
