We announce the death of Dorothy Mae Morehead of Hot Springs, Arkansas, who passed away on August 17, 2026, at the age of 96. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude E. Ratliff and Arrie Courtney Ratliff; her husband John C. "J. C." Morehead; her son Gary Morehead; her siblings, L. B. Ratliff, Herbert Ratliff, Milford Ratliff, Allen Ratliff, Russell Ratliff, Troy Ratliff, Frances Phiffer, Carolyn Ratcliff and Darlene Parnell; and her sons-in-law, Russell Owens and Bo Hunter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Joan Owens of Sheridan and Barbara Campbell of Hot Springs; her sister Patsy Mallei (John) of Pennsylvania; her grandsons, Brent Hunter, Bodie Hunter, Shawn Cockrell, Thomas Cockrell, Jeremy Morehead, John Morehead and Alex Morehead; and her great grandchildren, Lauren Hunter, Corbin Hunter, Nicholas Purifoy, Alivia Hunter, Harley Cockrell and JJ Cockrell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
