He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Ricky Carter and James Walker Jr.; his uncle James L Blevins; and his close friends, Kenny Pooh, Tavorrye Whitaker and Coach Aaron Cooper.

He is survived by: his parents, James Walker III and Chiquita Carter; his siblings, Jayvion Walker and Xavier Carter; his grandmothers, Sandra Carter and Louise Walker; his godmother Brittany N. Garner; his girlfriend Kalayria McDaniel; and his sisters, Amera and Amara Hardwell. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended family.

In true JJ fashion, he was able to continue to bless others after his passing by saving 5 lives due to organ donation.
