Stephen Staples Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Stephen Staples of Hot Springs, Arkansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 25, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Stephen farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Stephen is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Staples and Mary Trickey Staples. He is survived by: his wife Deborah Overton Staples; his daughter Diane; his son-in-law William Lafferty; his grandchildren, Mallory and Levi; and his brothers, Greg Staples (Joanne) of Cabot and Ricky Staples (Teresa) of Sherwood. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lake Hamilton Baptist Church (5963 Central Ave, Hot Springs, AR 71913). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Lake Hamilton Baptist Church.
