He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bost and Florence Lee Bost Thornburg (Dees); his brother John Wayne Bost; his grandson Patrick Alexander Nelson; and his daughter-in-law Jennifer Lynn Nelson.

He is survived by: his sons, Pat Nelson of Augusta and Jamie Bost (Terra) of Van Buren; and his siblings, Wanda Braley of New Boston, Texas, Robin Braley of New Boston, Texas, Jesse Bost of Cherokee Village, Steve Bost of New Boston, Texas, Vic Thornburg of New Boston, Texas and Stanley Thornburg of New Boston, Texas. He is also survived by grandchildren; and (11) great-grandchildren.

The military honors will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Smith National Cemetery (522 Garland Ave, Fort Smith, AR 72901).
