He was predeceased by : his parents, Jesse Davis and Rachel Davis (Keck); his siblings, Hazel Voekler, Pauline Russell, Josephine West, Eugene Davis and Jerry Davis; and his sons, Bert McCandless, Paul McCandless and Jeff Davis.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Ellen Davis (McCandless); and his daughters, Della McCandless, Felicia Ramirez (Beto), Susan Jackson (Leslie), Liz Whorton (Rick) and Janice Wall. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
