He was predeceased by: his wife Freda Lackey; his parents, Roy Eddie and Mary Veora Lackey; his brothers, Stanley and Wayne; his daughter Brenda Sue Shelton; and his grandchildren, Christopher Davis, Joseph Shelton, Lawanda Lovell and Ashley Lewis.

He is survived by: his caregiver Chris Lackey; his children, Veora Reel (Rick), Albert Lackey Jr., Donna K Lewis, Terry Lackey, Raymond Lackey and Liz Pagan; his grandson Dakota Allison; and his friend Scott "Red" Whitman. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
