He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Pettit and Eleine Pettit (Lyons); his siblings, Alice Shuba, Pattie Pettit and Harry Pettit, Jr.; his son James Lyons; and his great grandchildren, James Lyons, III and Nevaeh Lyons.
He is survived by: his wife Ethel Lyons; his children, Carole Fortson (Sammy Trantham), Charles Lyons, Jr. (Meri) and Angie Lyons; his sisters, Lois McComb and Peggy Rice (Bill); and his sister-in-law Joan Crews. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (1504 N J P Wright Loop Rd, Jacksonville, AR 72076). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Moores Jacksonville Funeral Home (1504 N J P Wright Loop Rd, Jacksonville, AR 72076). A burial will be held on Monday, November 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Chapel Hill Memorial Park (1504 N J P Wright Loop Rd, Jacksonville, AR 72076).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project in Mr. Lyons' honor.
