He is survived by: his wife Betty Ruth Thomson Pittman; his children, Sebastian Hernandez, Christian D. Pittman, Jacquelyn J. Yates and Victoria D. Adams; his grandchildren, Dara, Myles, Lorenza, Corey, Parker, Veronica, Christian, Angelica, London, Jessie and Tessa; his great grandchildren, Sophia, Gillian, Halia, Carter and Waverly; and his sister Susan Kingsolver.
