He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Box and Cordie Box; and his son John Thomas Box, Jr.. He is survived by: his daughter Amanda Crow (Tim); his grandchildren, Rachel and Brendon; his cousin Ray Norman; his siblings, Dorothy Holt (Nub), Charlie Box (Wanda), Martha Gilbert, Barbara 'BJ' Cummings and Alice Hamilton; and his nieces and nephews, Brad Davis (Pam), Bill Holt (Michele), Dan Johnson (Pam), Donna Renick (Kerry) and Ginger Thompson (Josh).
A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (1504 N J P Wright Loop Rd, Jacksonville, AR 72076). A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Bethel Cemetery (7417 Jacksonville Conway Rd, Jacksonville, AR 72076).
