He was predeceased by: his mother Juanita McAlister; his brother Jerry McAlister; and his son Christopher McAlister. He is survived by: his father Leslie McAlister; his sons, Michael McMackins (Catalina), Lance McAlister (Melissa), David McMackins (Dina) and Matthew McAlister (Alicia); and his grandchildren, David Jr., Michael Jr., Skylar and Ainsley.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Second Baptist Church (1117 N James St, Jacksonville, AR 72076). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM at the Chapel Hill Memorial Park (1504 N J P Wright Loop Rd, Jacksonville, AR 72076).
