He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul May and Marguerite May (Ecker); and his siblings, Paul May, Arthur May and Gloria "Sue" Oaks.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia May; his children, Teresa LaFort (Bob) and Richard May, Jr. (Deanna); his grandchildren, Chris McPheeters (Krystal), Taylor May (Kaci) and Landon; his great grandchildren, Gabriella McPheeters, Everleigh McPheeters, Cooper May and Piper Grace May; and his siblings, Robert May (Ruth), Nancy May Baker, Gene May (Diane) and Byron May. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (1504 N J P Wright Loop Rd, Jacksonville, AR 72076). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
