He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Jones and Ruth Jones; his siblings, Thomas Jones, LaVern Morgan and Eloise Harris; and his granddaughter Lindsay Scobey.

He is survived by : his wife Charlene Jones; his daughters, Brenda Qualls (Cary), Beverly Scobey and Becky Yarbrough (Billy Allen); and his grandchildren, Kelly Gilbert (Adam), Kristen Courtney (Jeremy), Katie Berryman (Kyle), Kandace Loetscher, Joe Brown (Alex) and Tye Brown (Blakely). He is also survived by his family and many friends.
