Benjamin Sommers Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sommers and Cordia Sommers; his wife Cleta Sommers; his sons, David (Sheila) and Randy Sommers; and his grandson Colby Thomas.

He is survived by: his children, Sharon Isely (late Steven) of Bee Branch, Daniel Sommers (Ronda) of Jerusalem, Steve Sommers (Kathi) of Jerusalem, Sandra Harris (Jeff) of Hattieville and Debra Thomas (Lance) of Jerusalem; and his sisters, Lorene Hannel (MO) of Bloomfield, Rose Wallace of Paragould and Helen Greer (MO) of Kansas City. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lemley Funeral Service (1401 N Church St, Atkins, AR 72823). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at the Robertstown Cemetery. He worked hard and got the most out of every day he lived, fighting through tough battles with Covid and cancer, losing his wife and watching his house burn while always pushing on, with grit and often a witty joke and a grin.
