He was predeceased by: his parents, George Thornton and Ollie Thornton; his sister Francis Slater; his brother-in-law Glen Slater; his niece Debra (Garner); and his uncle Ranson Robbins.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Thornton; his sons, William Todd Thornton (Vickie) and Rodney Thornton; his granddaughters, Hannah Crain (Cody), Rebekah Weatherford (Aaron) and Natalie Thornton; and his great grandchildren, Adalynn Mae Crain and Elizabeth Gail Crain. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Buckville Church. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Buckville Cemetery.
