He was predeceased by: his parents, Billy Shannon and Mary Jo Shannon; his wife Cynthia Kay Shannon; his brother Michael Dewayne Shannon; and his uncle Doug Shannon.
He is survived by: his son Mitchell Dwayne Shannon Jr. (Christina Shannon); the mother of his child Callie James; and his siblings, Larry Wiley Jr., Paula Barnes and Tracy Shannon. He is also survived by two daughters, ten grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.
