He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Owens and Ruby Owens; and his brother James Carroll Owens (Donna) of Festus, MO.. He is survived by: his wife Dixie Lucille Owens of Jonesboro; his sister Mary Kay Grossman; his children, Dr. Ben Owens Jr. (Tracy) of Jonesboro and Nancy Owens of Jonesboro; and his granddaughters, Christine Hilburn (Garrett) of St. Charles, Mary Hensel (DJ) of Nashville, Carli McAllister (Jeremy) of Jonesboro and McKenzi Hawkins (Matt) of Conway. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Bernards Foundation and First United Methodist Church.
