Bernita LaViece New Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on January 30, 2026, at the age of 90, Bernita LaViece New (Jonesboro, Arkansas), born in Leachville, Arkansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Welch and Auda Welch; her husband Billy New Sr.; her brothers, Bob Welch and Bill Cox; her brother-in-law Bob Roe; her children, Carol Ann New, Linda Rogers and Billy New Jr.; her son-in-law Donnie Rogers; and her grandson Cleatus Rogers.
She is survived by: her daughter Valerie Hall (Bill); her sisters, Shirley Roe and Mazie Alphen; her sister-in-law Olene Welch Pickney; and her adoptive son Jesus. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a lifetime of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Missions Ministry at Refuge Church of Jonesboro, honoring LaViece's lifelong heart for spreading the love of Christ.
