We announce the death of Betty Jo McElrath (Jonesboro, Arkansas), who passed away on August 1, 2026, at the age of 94. Betty will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wiley Coomer and Maudie Coomer; her husband Clinton C. McElrath; and her siblings, Louise Buvia, Irene Cerveny of Harley Coomer, B. T, Franklin Coomer, Walter Coomer, Billy Cribbs, James Dowty and Dick Dowty.
She is survived by: her son Tommy McElrath (Shelly); her siblings, Lafon Coomer, Patricia Parish and Ladoska Modisette; her granddaughter Brandye Wilson (Dillon); her great grandchildren, Darcy and Darian Wilson; and her sister-in-law Janice Brooks.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bono Church of Christ Backpack Fund or the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
