Carolyn Lavin-Hall Obituary
Carolyn Lavin-Hall, born April 9, 1944, in Atlanta, Texas, and adopted by Tom and Julia Lavin, passed away peacefully into the presence of Jesus, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Ron Hall, of Paragould, AR.
A proud graduate of the University of Arkansas with a degree in education, Carolyn dedicated much of her life to shaping young minds as a teacher and coach at Oak Grove High School. Her talents extended beyond the classroom when she became the proud owner of a flower shop, bringing beauty and joy to her community through her floral creations.
Carolyn loved her two children, Jodie Horton and David Kirk, and their spouses, son-in-law John Horton and daughter-in-law Michelle Kirk. She was also a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren, three of whom were adopted, and also three great-grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
As a double lung transplant recipient, Carolyn's strength and determination inspired all who knew her. She recently fulfilled a lifelong dream, embarking on the trip of a lifetime down the Rhine River in Europe, where she marveled at the beauty of the world with her characteristic enthusiasm.
Carolyn found great joy in gathering with friends to play mahjong, share delicious desserts, and engage in lively conversation. Her warmth, laughter, and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to support orphans at https://www.a-fh.org in Carolyn's honor. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at The Rock Church, Jonesboro, AR.
