Charles will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Though Charles is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Charles’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Sorrell Kemp and Charles Emmett Kemp; and his wife Frances Tucker Kemp. He is survived by: his daughters, Lisa Kemp Clark (Rusty Clark) and Julia Kemp Fox (Carl Fox); and his significant other Peggy Burnett. He is also survived by six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Emerson Funeral Home (1629 E Nettleton Ave, Jonesboro, AR 72401). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (801 S Main St, Jonesboro, AR 72401). Pete continued seeing patients until he was 90 years old, when the COVID-19 pandemic made continuing his practice unrealistic.
His contributions to UAMS were later recognized with its Distinguished Alumni Award.
