With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Wayne Sowell in Jonesboro, Arkansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 3, 2026 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Sowell and Rena Richardson Sowell; his brothers, Harold Sowell and Pete (Georgia Dunlap); and his sister-in-law Sharon Porter (Wallace).
He is survived by: his spouse Gail Dunlap Turner; his children, Jim Turner and Leigh Ann Turner Morrison of West Plains, MO.; his grandchildren, Trista Harris (Tyler), Cassondra Morrison, Cole Morrison, Ben Cook, Andrew Cook, Bexar Bohnenkemp, Talon Lawrence and Logan Lowther; his nephew John Porter; Winston.
He and Gail became virtual church goers after Covid and continued regularly until his death.
