He was predeceased by: his parents, Asie Ernest "Hoss" Shumake and Lila Mae Payne Shumake; his siblings, Jesse Shumake of Ethel Noles, I. V, Duke, Jean Garnett, Bobby Shumake and Wayne Shumake; and his great grandchild Hadley Claire Campbell.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his daughters, Denise Simpkins (Randy) and Debra Smith (Terry); his grandchildren, Shalyn Simpkins, Tara Campbell (Cameron), Kala Swann (Trey) and Dustin Simpkins (Hannah); his great grandchildren, Sutton, Emma Kate, Eliza Campbell, Kennedy Beth, Tripp Simpkins, Evelyn, Eila and Eleanor Swann; his brother Jack Shumake (Dixie); and his sisters-in-law, Nelda Shumake, Georgia Richardson and Charlotte Martin.
