He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeff Lawson and Gladys Lawson (Gibson); his wife Martha Malone; and his sister Marcella Ransone. He is survived by: his son James "Jamie" Lawson Jr. of Jonesboro; and his nieces and nephews, Randy Ransone, Jeff Ransone, Jackson Ransone, Scotty Simino, Kassie Evans, Amy Cox and Renea Kirtley.
