It is with sadness that the passing of James R. McKinney of Jonesboro, Arkansas is shared. James, born on September 15, 1935, passed away on September 27, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James R. McKinney to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell McKinney and Alma McKinney; his brothers, Jesse and Doyle McKinney; his wife Martha (Nell); his daughter Cathy Bittancourt; and his great grandchild Andrew Bittancourt.
He is survived by: his daughter Letitia Thomas (Danny) of Arkansas; his grandchildren, Jeff Bittancourt (Karen) of California, Steven Henderson (Heather), William Henderson (Jennifer) of Tennessee, James Bittancourt of Minnesota, Danielle Long (Jarrod) of Oklahoma, Jason Bittancourt (Mistie) of Colorado and Shaena Gibson of Arkansas; his great grandchildren, Kiersten, Elise, Braelyn, Paiton, Kinley, Jake, Dalton, Janelle, Melanie and Addilyn; his sisters, June Kelm of Texas, Joan Sellers of Arkansas and Beth Garner (Larry) of Arkansas; and his siblings-in-law, Doug Greeno (Wilma) of Arkansas and Geneva Roberds Matlock of Arkansas. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Emerson Funeral Home (1629 E Nettleton Ave, Jonesboro, AR 72401). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
