He is survived by: his father Marty Whitson; his stepparents, Peggy Whitson of Loudon, Tennessee and Steve Medel of Stockton, California; his children, Tyler Whitson of Jonesboro, Jacob Whitson of Jonesboro and Porter Whitson of Jonesboro; and his siblings, Daniel Medel of Stockton, California, Ashlee Droivold (Matt) of Stockton and Cicely Jones (Brian) of Illinois. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
