With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lila Ruth Benson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, who passed away on December 9, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Puckett and Doris Puckett; her husband Donald Benson; her son Douglas Benson; her son-in-law Lance Smith; and her siblings, Gilbert Puckett, Nellie Bancroft, Judy Jones, Eddie Puckett and Jerry Puckett.
She is survived by: her children, Dallas Benson (Kelly), Karen Erney (Brad) and Laura Smith; her grandchildren, Kyle Priest (Jennifer), William Davidson (Hannah), Troy Davidson (Macey) and Whitlee Smith; her great grandchildren, Silas Priest, Lillian Priest, Elijah Priest and Charlotte Davidson; her siblings, Bill Puckett (Rita), Larry Puckett (Phyllis), Mike Puckett (Jeannie), Doris Francis (Danny) and Phillip Puckett; and her caregivers, Dawn Pate, Barbara Burnside, Tonya Davis, Kay Barnes, Amy Roark and Emily Scholtens. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Emerson Funeral Home (1629 E Nettleton Ave, Jonesboro, AR 72401). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Arkansas Children's Hospital, or a charity of your choice.
