He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Phillips and Ada Phillips (Neece); and his brothers, Albert Phillips and Bill Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Martha; his daughters, Ashley Phillips (Bob), Charity McQuay (Trey) and Brittany Kibby; his grandchildren, Gavin Phillips, Graham McQuay and Quinn McQuay; his great grandchildren, Penny Fletcher and Cora Fletcher; and his siblings, Johnny Phillips, Paula Witt and Dianne Roach (Mike).
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Newton's honor to the Old Enterprise Cemetery Fund (407 CR 348 Jonesboro, AR 72401).
