Ronnie Gene Koons Obituary

Ronnie Gene Koons, age 56, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on August 25, 2026 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born on October 27, 1969 in Lepanto, Arkansas to J.C. Koons and Violet (Schultz) Koons. Ronnie was of the Baptist faith and attended Refuge Church in Lake City, Arkansas for many years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, scenery painting, spending time with his dogs Pepper, Daisy, and Bubba, but most importantly spending time with family.

Survivors include; wife: Hanna Koons of the home; six children: Kaesha Gladden (Shane) of Bartlett, Tennessee, Alison Koons of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Evan Koons of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Carson Koons of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Summer Peck (Chase) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Drake Mullen (Mayzee) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one granddaughter: Nora Gladden; sister in law: Takesha Koons of Harrisburg, Arkansas; special family friend: Carla Morton (Paul) of Paragould, Arkansas; and a host of other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by; his parents: J.C. Koons and Violet (Schultz) Koons; and one brother: Ty Koons.

Friends and members of the community are invited to gather with the family to share their love and condolences on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Refuge Church in Lake City, Arkansas. The celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Steve Hinkle officiating. There will be no graveside services.

Flowers and plants are welcomed and may be delivered to Refuge Church on Saturday morning. The front doors on the east side of the building will be open beginning at 8:00 a.m. for deliveries.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Refuge Church, designated for the Community Food Pantry.
