Shirley Jewel Vickery Obituary
Shirley Jewel Vickery, 87, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on May 10, 2026 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 8, 1938 in Caraway, Arkansas to Luther and Edith (Kirby) Wilkins. Shirley was a member of Woods Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening flowers, cooking for her grandchildren, and spending time with family.
Survivors include; one daughter: Connie Newman (Bill) of Temecula, California; one son: Ed Vickery (Misti) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; one brother: Ronnie Wilkins of Alabama; five grandchildren: Jennifer Haub (Matthew), Danielle Flynn (Erin), Jacob Vickery (Claire), Sarah Freeman (Jonathan), Seth Vickery (Jill); seven great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by; her parents: Luther and Edith (Kirby) Wilkins; husband: Loyd Vickery; and four siblings: Gerald Wilkins, Joann Burtman, Danny Wilkins, Judy Burche.
Those to honor as pallbearers will be ; Bill Newman, Jacob Vickery, Seth Vickery, Aaron Farley, Daniel Hathcoat, and Shawn Smith.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Woods Chapel Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Pinelog Cemetery in Brookland, Arkansas with pastor Rick Hathcoat and pastor Jonathan Freeman officiating; under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
