He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Schmidt and Helen Schmidt; and his siblings, Bill Schmidt, Barbara Weaver, Millie Gain and Mary Lou Davidson.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his daughters, Tracy Barker and Stacy Rakestraw (Kyle); his grandchildren, Jake Rakestraw, Faith Rakestraw Grill (Blake), Savanna Joy Rakestraw, Brittany White and Sophie Bea Bonds; his great grandchild Thomas Warren Grill; and his sister Frances Jean Fornarotto.
