He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Geis and Hazel Baucum Geis; and his nephew Scott Sanford. He is survived by: his wife Julia Coleman Geis; his siblings, Susan Geis of Jonesboro and John Perry Geis of Alexander, VA; and his siblings' children, Amy Branum, Jennifer Keller, Stephanie Caturra, Hugh Sanford and John Christopher Geis.
