He was predeceased by: his parents, Beatrice Wise Odom and Paul J. Odom; his siblings, Elton Odom, Nanette Busby, Mary Callahan and Judy Chatham; and his pet Smokie.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Owen Odom; his son Wayne Odom; and his brother Howard Odom (Jimmie Sue) of Colquitt. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to St. Jude children's Research Hospital.
