He was predeceased by: his parents, Norma Fay Cox (Roe) and Cledis Sylvester Cox; his sisters, Rhonda Wey and Sharon Brown; and his granddaughter Haley Marie Clemons (Jay).
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Ann Cox; his children, Dora Michelle Howe (Josh Howe) of Ozark, Arkansas and James Clayton Cox Jr. of Flat Rock, Arkansas.; his grandchildren, Trey Cox (Payten Cox) of Scranton, Alexia Cox (Holden Walker) of Evening Shade, Arkansas, James Clayton Cox III of Cave City, Arkansas, Savannah George (Brandon George) of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Aydien Ragsdale of Hartman, Arkansas.; and his sisters, Tricia Pruitt (Jay Pruitt) of Flat Rock and Tina Conner (David Conner) of London. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and friends.
