Walter leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Walter’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Walter will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Levert Singleton Hammers and Betty Jean Scogin Hammers; and his daughter Erin Bethany Hammers. He is survived by: his wife Joy Rodgers Hammers of Lake Village; his granddaughter Presley Olivia Yeager; his sisters, Betty Hogue (Major) of Swiftwater and Brenda Muirhead of Greenville; his granddaughter Presley Olivia (Drill Team); and his cousin Ray Melancon. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
