He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Ray Thomas Sr. and Maggie Helen Morris (Kennedy); and his sister Marianne Snipes. He is survived by: his wife Ellen Thomas (Weymouth); his children, Robert Thomas, Jennifer Bieker (Raymond) and Katrina Winchester (Travis); his grandchildren, Bryan Thomas, Tyler Winchester, Kayla Bieker and Derek Duncan; and his siblings, John Thomas (Tammy), Diane Valentine and Martha Klinger (Michael). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In recognition of his dedication, he was honored in the Lavaca Hall of Honor in 2022 for his contributions to youth athletics and helping to sustain the basketball program.
