He is survived by: his children, Lucas Hargett (Amy), Emily Priest (Daniel) and Kimberly Tilmon (Paul); his brother Donny Hargett (Lucretia); and his grandchildren, Kerrigan Carter, Karley Carter, Audrey Simons and Carlee Priest. He is also survived by three nephews and three nieces.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Immanuel Baptist Church's Children's Ministry or the Building Fund.
