He is survived by: his wife Velma Smith; his children, Elmer D. Smith, Jr. (Paula), Jo Ann Bradshaw (Jason), Wanda Coley (Clyde) and Steffanie Green; his nephew Terry Lynn Smith; and his siblings, Lloyd "Leo" Smith, Katherine Billingsly, Debbie Graham, Andy Coats and Johnny Crawford. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
