He was predeceased by : his parents, Columbus Boundy Chism and Jewell Chism; his brothers, Billy Chism, Dale Chism and Rex Chism; his children, Donna Chism and Tony Pryor; and his granddaughter Naomi Chism.

He is survived by : his wife Alma L. Chism; his sons, Donny Pryor (Shanna), Ronnie Pryor (Jamie) and John Chism; his siblings, Doris Grady, Roy Chism, Danny Chism, Pat Smith and Sissy Henson; and his close friends, Jimmie Dale Young, Bobby Ray and Joe Smith. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
