He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Fredrick and Cellia Christine Carte (Pridemore); his son Kenneth Franklin Carte; his stepson Jerry Morgan; and his brother John Carte.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Carte; his children, Sherry Smith (Mark), Jimmy Morgan, Jo Ann Biggs (Paul) and Joyce Emily (Mark); and his siblings, Gary Dale Carte, Eva Sue Watson, Raylene Newell (James) and Judy Kay Skaggs. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
