He was predeceased by: his wife Estella Hayes; his daughters, Christine Higgins and Bertha Wright; and his parents, James Hayes and Emma Reed.
He is survived by: his daughters, Emma Hayes Bolden and Ernestine Hayes. He is also survived by 50 grandchildren, 133 great grandchildren, 113 great great grandchildren, 3 great great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
