She was predeceased by: her parents, Vera Adelaide House Nelson and William A. Nelson; and her siblings, Muriel Hill, William C. Nelson, David Nelson and Martin Nelson.

She is survived by: her daughter Laurie Nelson Arnold of Little Rock; and her nieces and nephews, Michelle Funderburgh, Lauren Ybarra (Cissie), Heather Senter (Brandt), Ashley Grebstad (Anders), Mickey Ramsey (Marion), Karen Hall, Brian Nelson and Mike Hill (Carrie). She is also survived by nine great-nieces and six great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund or Alzheimer's Arkansas.
